Film opened in Japan on May 30
On September 3rd in the Philippines, JUJUTSU KAISEN Hidden Inventory / Premature Death, which is a compilation film of the "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" ("Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu") arc from the second season of the Jujutsu Kaisen television anime, will be released.
On May 30th, the movie premiered in Japan and placed fourth during its inaugural weekend. It sold approximately 138,000 tickets and generated around US$1.36 million in revenue within the first three days of release.
Tatsuya Kitani sang "Ao no Sumika," which is the theme song for the anime's second season. He sang an acoustic version of this song as part of his performance for the film.
In July 2023, the second season of the anime was released, which lasted for two quarters or half a year. This season covered both "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" ("Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu") and "Shibuya Incident" arcs from the manga. Ani-One Asia from Medialink Entertainment streamed this anime as it was being broadcasted in Japan.
It has been announced that there will be another season of the anime based on the "Culling Game" arc from the manga series "Shimetsu Kaiyū". MAPPA will be responsible for its production.
In October 2020, the first anime version of Gege Akutami's manga series "Jujutsu Kaisen" was released on Ani-One Asia. It consisted of 24 episodes. Additionally, in December 2021, a prequel film titled "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" was shown in Japan. This film was then screened in various Southeast Asian territories by Medialink.
