Netflix started streaming on Monday the teaser video for Last Samurai Standing , the live-action ( link ) An anime adaptation of Shogo Imamura's "Ikusagami" novels has been announced for November 13th.

Netflix describes the series:

In the late 19th century during the Meiji period, 292 warriors, including Shujiro Saga ( Junichi Okada ), gather at Tenryu-ji Temple in Kyoto at nightfall, lured by the promise of a huge cash prize. Each given a wooden tag, they join a vicious game in which they must steal the tags of their fellow participants and reach Tokyo to win the prize money. Under the veil of night, the temple grounds are filled with unease and the presence of bloodthirsty warriors. When the signal is given to begin the game, the combatants launch into their relentless battle for survival.

"You fools who live without meaning: kill each other, until just one remains."

In the series "Saga," played by Junichi Okada, Okada is both the lead actor and the producer. He is also responsible for the action sequences in the show.

The individuals responsible for directing the series are Michihito Fujii, Kento Yamaguchi, and Toru Yamamoto. Additionally, Kōsuke Oshida serves as the producer of the series.

In 2022, Imamura released the initial volume of the Ikusagami series. On August 8th, Kodansha published the final book of this series. Meanwhile, Tatsuzawa (known as TATSUZ) introduced his new series, Katsumi Tatsuzawa (a.k.a TATSUZ). ( link ) In 2022, the manga version of the novels will be featured in Kodansha's Morning magazine. Kodansha USA Publishing has acquired the rights to publish the second volume of the manga in English on September 23rd.

The anime adaptation of the historical novel series "Ushūboro Tobigumi" by Imamura will be titled "Oedo Fire Slayer -The Legend of Phoenix-". It will be released in January 2026.

The manga version of the novel Oedo Fire Slayer -The Legend of Phoenix- by Shinobu Seguchi was released. ( link ) in Akita Shoten 's Weekly Shōnen Champion on April 24. emaqi started releasing the manga digitally ( link ) in English in North America in July.
